We went to bed early most nights to avoid our kids listening to the loudness of the guests that got this holiday on a good package deal. It was loud, it was packed, it was a race to loungers, it was listening to ‘sweet caroline’ every evening. I get lots love a good bargain but if it comes at the expense of your expectations to stay at a stunning 5 star resort, then I’m sorry, this hotel is not the one you need to go to. It was not the relaxing reviews we have seen on the websites & here. Smoking weed they just bought from the beach beside the pool, drinking and spilling cocktails around the pool. They were loud, a noxious & disgusting for our kids to be around. Four, because of the free booze, cheap hotel rates, tui packqge deals that are obviously extremely affordable to so many, it brought so many unsavoury young adults that abused the free drink. This was not an option, and that was one huge pitfall for this 5 star hotel. Usually, 5 star all inclusive resorts will have a serve rate menu for those people who enjoy a beautiful glass of wine with dinner at the additional cost to the customer. A huge disappointment was the lack of decent wine. I get that as an all inclusive, everything is made in bulk so it can’t be to a 5 star dining level. Food - my view, it was a 4 star, maybe 3.5. Value for money, You’re not going to beat anywhere in the world. Thirdly, unfortunately this hotel is being abused in my eyes. Rooms were spotless and no traces of bugs / bed bugs of any kind. So so uncomfortable, hard as nails but springs sticking into whatever part of your body lay on the bed. Is there an alternative? Secondly, the beds OMG, I weigh less than 60lbs but my hips were so so sore after sleeping 8 nights on these beds. In one way I was happy to have no bugs, in another way, chocking with the smell. ![]() I could smell the chemicals to keep them bug free. They enjoyed their time with the pool boys & competitions. The lads working at the pool were great for our teenagers but they could have done a little more, meaning they’re energetic. I would suggest at busy pool times, some soccer or more sporting water sports should be implemented to ensure teenagers are more catered for. The pool boys did ALL the work to ensure guests were happy & involved. ![]() Review on waiters & pool boys! Incredible, They were so welcoming & friendly. Lighting on arrival to a suggested 5 star wouldn’t cost too much plus makes the place look more inviting! Picky maybe but that’s a tip more than review! Secondly, the guy Roman that checked us in, told us we got a ‘free upgrade’ but when we got to our room, it was in fact the 2 rooms we had paid for, so no upgrade. Throughout our stay, we did smell polish etc some days. The hotel was dimly lit & the smell wasn’t inviting. Only downside is that the 24 hour bar gets very busy when handegg or basketball games are on the TV - so avoid at those times if you aren't a sports fan. There's always somewhere to sit in the bar if it's raining. Rooms are clean, minibar is well-stocked. Location is superb - right on the beach, a short walk or cab ride from 5th Avenue and in the lovely Playacar gated community. This is great, because even if you do have to wait, you can just have a drink or a walk whilst waiting, and the restaurants don't have empty tables where prebooked guests fail to turn up. A la carte restaurants have a buzzer system, no prebooking. Lots of drinks stocked, if you don't see it on the menu, just ask. Buffet restaurant has loads of choice - only spoilt by a minority of selfish people who try to pile some of every dish on their plate then leave half or more of it, leaving you to wait for fresh food to be cooked. ![]() Superb hotel, plenty of activities for those who want them, plenty of peace and quiet for those who don't. |
